Hi. I’m a multidisciplinary writer, designer, and filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Below, you can see some of my recent projects.



MILLENNIUM FILM JOURNAL
Managing Editor The Millennium Film Journal is the world’s longest-running publication on contemporary moving image art, founded in 1978.

I began working for MFJ in 2018 as an editorial associate, and as Managing Editor since 2022.

In addition to editing, I oversee projects including distribution, screenings, and grant writing. Past contributions have included articles, intros, and video essays.

Outside of the Millennium Film Journal, I’ve written for Screen Slate and Film Comment.
SHOWER THOUGHTS
Editor I edited Yanxiu Ally Luo’s artist book Shower Thoughts: On Water, Intimacy, and Digitality, in the Fall of 2024.

Published by 3standardstoppagestudios, the book associatively traces connections between hydraulic networks and information networks, oscillating between the historical, social, and experiential.
AI, ARTISTS, AND THE FUTURE OF CREATIVITY
Lecturer In 2022, I published a Substack post connecting the current moment of AI image generation to Czech theorist Vilém Flusser’s decades-old theories around technical images.

In October 2024, professor Joerg Blumtritt reached out to me to adapt the essay as a guest lecture for Wheaton College’s Institute for Interdisciplinary Humanities, which I gave to a packed hall of undergraduates with strong opinions on AI.
DECOLONIAL FILM FESTIVAL
Web Designer I created the website for the first edition of the Decolonial Film Festival, which ran from June to July 2024 in Paris. Working from the brand identity established by their designer, I built webpages for the Festival’s team, sponsors, and the entire 38-film program.
THE BROWSER COMPANY
Art Direction + AnimationSince 2022, I’ve done occasional freelance creative work for the New York-based startup The Browser Company.

My work has included animation, motion graphics, and most recently, storyboarding and visual development for a commercial that was aired on national television. Here you can see a side-by-side of my storyboards and the final ad.
BIG OTHER PRODUCTIONS
Designer In 2023 I began working part-time as a designer at Big Other Productions, a film production company in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

As a core member of a small team, I designed websites, edited videos, and created social media campaigns for the studio and its productions, primarily Affair of Honor, a medium-length film adaptation of an Anton Chekhov play. More info for the film can be found on its website and Instagram.
SOCAL
AnimationIn late 2023 I made this video ad for SoCal, a social calendar app.

The video consists of thousands of AI images I generated with Midjourney, then edited in Adobe Premiere Pro.
ROLLING STONE +
STARLING LAB
IllustrationIn 2022 I made spot illustrations for a website redesign of Starling Lab, a privacy technology startup.

I also  contributed illustrations to  an interactive web article on Rolling Stone about the photographer Ron Haviv, in collaboration with Starling. The article and its associated content was recently nominated for a News & Doc Emmy in the “Outstanding Interactive Media” category.
THE GARDEN OF ETHLY DELIGHTS
IllustrationIn 2022, I created this large-scale digital artwork as a tribute to Hieronymus Bosch, the internet, and the Crypto summer of 2021. At the start of the process, I visited the Prado in Madrid to see Bosch’s original painting, then spent 4 months illustrating my piece, pixel by pixel. It sold at auction for 17 ETH, based solely on my own promotional efforts on Twitter.
CO-STAR ASTROLOGY
AI Safety ConsultantIn early 2023, I was approached by the startup Co-Star Astrology to improve safety through prompt-writing for their AI chatbot oracle, a feature which is now live in the app. The same tech is also used in a photobooth-like machine at Iconic Magazines in NoLIta.
